Leave Princes Street travelling West. In approximately 600 metres the main road turns left on a one-way system. Follow the one-way system around the block and keep to the left of the two lanes marked A8. Travel diagonally through the traffic lights at Haymarket (by the railway station).

You will then pass Donaldson's school on the right (a very large old building set back in green playing fields behind high iron railings.) You will then come to a series of hotels on both sides of the road. The Original Raj Hotel is the last hotel on the right before the BP garage and the old railway bridge. A Taxi fare from Waverley Station costs around £9.00 - £10.00.

No. 12, 26 and 31 from Princes Street (Garden side) to the Hotel. The Bus stop opposite the Hotel is called Kew Terrace. Day ticket on Lothian buses is £3.50 (valid on a calendar day for all city boundary routes, single ticket is £1.30. When travelling past midnight (night buses with letter N before service number) additional charge of £1 on top of normal ticket applies.

On leaving the airport follow the signs to Edinburgh city centre. Look for the road A8. The hotel is situated on the A8. The local street names for the A8 change. The hotel is 7 miles from Edinburgh airport. Once you are closer to the hotel you will pass Edinburgh Zoo on the left, which is 2 miles from the hotel. You will then pass Murrayfield Rugby stadium on the right and come into the local shopping area of Roseburn. Travel under the old railway bridge and the hotel is 200 metres on the left-hand side - just before a pedestrian crossing.

A taxi fare from the airport is around £15.00-£18.00. Airport Buses (A100) to the city centre depart at TEN-MINUTE INTERVALS FROM OUTSIDE Domestic Arrivals. An open return fare costs £6.00 (£3.50 single). The nearest Airport bus stop to the hotel is at Haymarket Station - some 800 metres east of the hotel.
